Project: Inspiration

This was a suggestion by Jo-Anne to leave an envelope under the windscreen wiper of a car. Hopefully this person agreed that they were prefect!

What have you done recently that was perfect?

This postcard I stuck to the post office window near the door because I decided if there is a sudden queue someone was bound to pick it up. The only problem is that I accidently left the wrong postcard here as this one was meant to be for a different location. Never mind though, just as long as it cheers someone up thats the main thing.

I hope that you believe that you are beautiful, inside and out :).

I decided to make the last 7 envelopes and it was actually quite fun as I spent all day Sunday doing that. I think it worked so much better decorating the envelope and postcard together as last time I decorated all envelopes and then postcard which meant it took longer to prepare things. I now need to think of some more places to leave them.

This one as you can see I stuck on a bench but as I got up to walk away the wind really started blowing but by then some people were coming towards me so I walked away. I really hope that someone picked it up before it did.

Do you ever like sitting on benches and watching people?

With hardly having received letters for the last 2 months I have hardly been to the post office which has resulted in me also not going to the library but as my sister needed me to post a card for her I decided to take my niece to the library. This also meant that I could leave another envelope somewhere so decided to choose a book from their new book range as I always head straight for that section when I managed to settle my niece down to enjoy the children books. My niece really wanted to borrow a book on Tuesday so I let her and decided on Thursday to return it. Whilst there I decided to check the new books and they were left exactly how I had left them on Tuesday in a big mess... so no one had even looked or taken the envelope. Hopefully they have by now!

I choose this one to go in the book because it has text on the paper. I also managed to start using my new frame rubber stamps on the front of the envelopes.

I've nearly finished decorating all the envelopes that I have created so far so I really need to make an effort to leave them in some of the following places....
  • bus stop
  • cafe
  • toilets (hopefully disabled ones but usually those are locked here and those who are in a wheel chair have to try and contact someone to open the door).
  • a weight loss section
  • a flower garden
  • bicycle
  • milkman
  • and any other random places that come to mind.
I am enjoying this project but I haven't even had the chance to sit down and start any of the projects I had hope to do. This time of year is usually exhausting and long at work.

I hope that you are enjoying viewing these envelopes and postcards so far. Have any of you found them inspiring enough to try something out on your snail mail envelopes?

I decided to continue with the theme of clothes and popped this envelope in to a cardigan pocket  in the shop. Its a ghastly looking cardigan but I've seen people wear them and they look so good. Anyway as I walked away a lady picked up another nasty looking cardigan on the same rail so I hope that she noticed this envelope in the process. It's fun thinking of un-usual places but they are also not very obvious ones so can take people some time to find and even then they may not want it. I should be going to the supermarket on Wednesday so I hope to take a peek into the book to see if that one has finally gone.

Do you have any favourite quotes?

Project: Inspiration

This was actually the last envelope so far that I have created (I hope to decorate a couple more). I just had to use those cactus stamps in some way and have been really inspired by Geninne's Art Blog as she has so many fascinating artefact's and is great at drawing.

I of course decorated the envelope first,  stuck the stamps on and the decided that the cactus closest to the stamps needed a little something more so drew those awful spiky bits on which I made a mess of. In the end I just decided to ignore it and decorate the postcard which I love.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the back of the card which was a zig-zag border in green and black around the edges and a green seal. So you now have a photograph of the clothes I wore yesterday instead.

I knew straight away where I wanted to stick this envelope and yesterday I went with my niece to the park. It was a glorious day all day, the sun was shinning, the sky was clear that is until I arrived at the park and then it was suddenly so grey. I decided to go ahead and do my mission but when I went back to the car it started to rain and I had no time left to go back and reclaim this envelope as I had to get back with my niece for when her parents arrived.

I used the quote 'You're Beautiful' because though it is an ugly piece of art work and I don't get it, in its own way it has its beauty.... also cactus are considered ugly by some. I hope someone picked this little envelope up.

Do you like or own a cactus?
