Project: Christmas Postcards

Untitled
I can't believe the Christmas week is officially over, where did the days and the time go! I have had a week of holidays which have been filled with visiting shops but not actually buying anything except today when I treated myself to a Christmas decoration which will be nice any time of the year. I just need a house to display it.

I've read a lot and relaxed plenty... the last week will fly by but I've no idea yet how I will spend it even though I guess it will be spent in the same way as this week. I hope that you are all having such an amazing festive period!

This is now the last of my postcard. I hope that you enjoyed looking at all 26 of them!

Project: Christmas Postcard

I hope that you are all having a wonderful day however you are celebrating it! The last of my postcards until next year. #christmas #postcard #snailmail #christmaspostcard #cottonyarn #baubles
I hope that you are all having a wonderful day today, however you are celebrating it. I still have a couple more postcards to share with you which I'll show tomorrow as its boxing day here so some people will still be in the festive mood.

So for now I'll leave you with these!

Project: Christmas Postcards

Untitled
I made some confetti bags as an example for the children at work and had a lot of these strips laying around so I had to use them some how. I didn't bother neatening them so that they were all roughly the same or the same width generally. I think it just adds to the fun of the whole thing and I hope the recipient agrees.  I just love the vibrant colours.

Project: Christmas Adventure!

I'm on another mission of leaving things around my city for people to find. This time I targeted toilet cubicles and for 1 card I left it in a shop on a shelf so I hope its found. I wanted to stick to the indoors as all it has done recently is rain but also this time I didn't want my items flung to one side, blown away by the wind and for no one even to look at it because life's too busy. The only time a person will take a minute to reflect (and stare at the back of a door) is in the toilet. You'll understand even more when you get to the end why I needed people to notice, take but most of all open my envelopes.

and 8 decorated envelopes...

Write what ever comes to mind! I have to admit I wish I had planned this bit much better but I just couldn't think straight at the time in what exactly I wanted to do. In reality though I don't think the person who find them will care.

This time I added in a £1 coin for the person to treat themselves. At Christmas time we only seem to rush around worrying about gifts for others, what they need/like and food to cook but never take a minute to think about what we need. Thanks to £1 shops you can spoil yourself with anything, I have no idea of cafes in Bradford as to what they charge as I only went to one in my life which took my sister and I ages to find. Its however closed now. This is the reason why someone needed to find and open my envelopes as it would be awful for a £1 to go to waste.
Untitled
This bit was so last minute as I didn't think the card was inspiring enough, its like I said I wish I thought it out more but as I didn't I quickly made these up to feel inspired and loved this season. To finish it off I also added confetti or snowflakes into the envelope.

I guess you could call it A party in an envelope!

When recycling punched out strips its sometimes nice to use the punched out shape too to add a but more effect.

I hope that these postcards have been inspiring in some way whether for big or little projects :)

Project: Christmas Postcard

I've never recieved a stocking before but I always imagine it must be fun to wake up as a child and to make your way through the contents of one and then to make your way through the presents under the Christmas tree. How spoilt everyone must feel!

Project: Christmas Postcards

Untitled
I honestly don't know where the week has gone and I haven't even posted a single post in that time. I've just been so full of cold this week that I just haven't spent that long online. Even now I feel a little light headed but I really hope that I can pull myself through this week as from Friday I will start my Christmas holidays... I honestly can't wait as I so need that lay in (I won't share with you what time I got up today!)

Today I decided to make a start on the last project on my project list. I've decorated the envelopes and just need to write in the cards but I want something nice and inspirational to fit in with the season. I'm not going to photograph all the locations I leave the cards as with project Inspiration I felt a little too exposed when wanting to leave a card and run. Lets see how this works. I'll blog about it as soon as I've finished with the postcards.

Unfortunately things never worked out with the a-happy-new-year-letter-exchange-project so I won't be able to share anything for it. However if you did get assigned a partner I hope that you have a lot of fun!

Project: Christmas Postcards

Untitled
As I mentioned in my first post, I have used every bit of paper possible when creating my postcards and decorating my envelopes. Whether I punched snowflakes or holes neatly or not into the paper, I still used them as it just adds a little something to your item whilst being eco-friendly too.
And another decorated envelope. I always worry about not having enough space for addresses. I've no idea why I didn't order some £1.28 stamps. I hope that the post office will have some. #envelope #snailmail #sendmoremail #mail #snailmailrevolution #snowm
I don't know how I end up making things fussy when just wanting to stay simple but its fun seeing the end result of an item and hopefully its appreciated when it lands on someones doorstep.

Project: Christmas Postcard

Untitled
This postcard has to be one of my favourites but I think its because I just love these little fairy girls.
I love christmas trees and baubles so was quite sad to find there were none in the die cuts. However it's always fun to make you own dancing ones. #christmas #christmastree #snowflakes #decotape #decoratedenvelope #postagestamp #christmasstamp #stamp #sna
I was disappointed not to have any Christmas trees in my collection so I couldn't help making this dancing one myself to use along with some cute deco tape that I've had for such a long time.

Project: Christmas Postcards

Untitled
I didn't at all imagine this year that I would end up making any type of Chistmas postcard. I even came across these cute die cuts but still I wasn't motivated to do it. So in the end I had to force myself to sit down and make something which I did.
Untitled
I stuck mostly to these items that you can see which resulted in me using every bit of paper I used and not to waste anything. I'm like that anyway which is why my paper pads last so long but also I have a basket full of scraps which annoys me something rotten as it always falls over.

I do however like some postcards more then others but the main thing is that the person receiving them will like the one I send.
Untitled All wrapped up and ready to go tomorrow! #christmas #christmasstamps #postagestamps #stamps #seasonal #festive #snowflakes #candles #snailmail #snailmailrevolution #sendmoremail #mail #royalmail #british #penpal #letter
For those receiving a letter or a birthday card with their postcard I've ended up decorating the envelope too as I have so many die cuts left. This candle one I didn't end up using at all on postcards as it can only really fit in to a corner like this. As you can see I used some scraps for the snowflakes and the address label. I will try and use as much of my Christmas paper as possible on the envelopes because my last pad lasted 3 years and I still have some left! so I'm extremely sick of it. I don't understand why they don't make these papers more colourful.

Anyway you will see on here up until Christmas day at least.

Are you crafting too at the moment?

I hadn't planned on having a quiet week but things tend to happen in life that take priority but here I am again posting a couple more postcards that I sent out this year.

One thing I always loved at Christmas time is Christmas crackers, there was just something about that plastic toy, joke and paper hat that we all looked forward to. Also growing up I knew a couple of families that made Christmas crackers for a living at home. You had to have patience and space for such a thing as it took over your house as well as took some effort making (even though we thought it looked great).

Do you always buy a set of crackers to pop on the day?

Have you noticed I'm quite a bauble freak? I could honestly spend a day in a shop looking at all the amazing designs and styles. My brother-in-law had one hanging in his car and I always thought of doing the same but have never actually got around to buying one. Maybe I'll see that one bauble that I really must have even though I'm tempted to buy all of them.

What Christmas item can't you help but buy each year?

I posted about a project inspiration I wanted to do but as I'm once again not feeling so great I decided there was no point in forcing myself to do it when my heart just isn't in it. I guess they'll have to wait for next year when I should be ready and hopefully feeling up to it. So for now I continue showing all the postcards I've sent out so far.

Can you believe its the 10th December already, the time just seems to be flying by so quickly, before we'll know it we'll be seeing the new year in. At least its nice to know that there is only next week left until my holidays begin but of course for some of you it means the start of the Christmas celebrations :)... joy!

Project: Christmas Postcards

#angels #christmas #postcard #snailmail#angels #washitape #snowflake #christmas #postcard #snailmail
I know I need to be more creative with my titles, well I think I should anyway but its just so easy to put what project it is.

I'm almost done with posting all my packages and cards out... I was almost asleep last night when I remembered two people I put on my list but haven't got around to sending their cards out yet. It turned out that I didn't have any cards left that I'd made... oops! I was going to send a shop bought one to both of them but then thought its not fair that I've sent people on make my day one who never acknowledged receiving anything or reappearing again a handmade one and my actual friends a shop bought one as they put such effort in to their letters which is why we write such insanely long ones (between 15- 30 pages). I started making them when my niece turned up so I stopped and made some with her instead as I still have 2 blank cards for her. She's always insisting that we bake or create something but I really lack the energy and at times the motivation to do things. Its why I'm so glad I made these Christmas cards in September.

I'm slowly getting Christmas presents through now too and its so tempting to open them! Are you good at saving things for  Christmas day?
