Day 13: Toy

I had the opportunity to play one of these as a child but I always really really wanted to own one and master this toy. I usually got a few lines in before what ever I was creating fell to pieces which is why I stopped with my 'hEllo' where I have.

Day 12: What are you listening to...

I sat down to doodle something and at first I could only hear a slight rushing of wind but then breaking the silence I heard a quad or motorbike or a car with one of those awful exhausts. I couldn't draw any of those so choose a moped thinking it was easir to draw but I was a little mistaken as this looks so out of proportion but I hope it gets the point across. The whole time I was sat doodling this that noise just kept breaking the comfort of the wind.

Day 11: Hop

This always takes me back to my childhood! Using the pavement as a grid, searching for stones to write with but also to use as a counter. Most of our games were like this... pittu, rounders, skipping, elastic, cats cradle but best of all an abandoned sheet of paper to play noughts and crosses (tic tac toe), dots, chatterboxes... oh! I just remembered card games too, snap, lucky fish, pairs! Oh what fun! Hardly any money ever needed to be spent in those days.

Day 10: Time When feeling Blue...

The more I look at the doodle I've done they are so child like. I've no idea if people are actually enjoying them but I am enjoying doing this project even though it is becoming more challenging to think of what to do for each theme.

 

I'm wondering if maybe I should back this on to pale blue/white card as it feels weird not having a border when all the others do.

I always know that summer is around the corner when I notice flip flops appear in the shops along with swim wear and beach towels.

Project: Doodle A Day ~Someone who inspires you~

 

 

• This year I haven't been well and if it wasn't for getting up early in the morning for her I would probably call in sick. The other thing is that apart from Ramadan I don't get up before 7am for anyone but her.
• I don't watch TV unless we are both curled up on the couch watching children telly.
• If it wasn't for her I'd be really slobbing out on the couch doing nothing but her persistant attitude in wanting to bake, paint and do other creative things means I need to think of new and interesting things to do with her.

There are so many other things too.....

 

Who inspires you?

 

I know my sun isn't so great, I had an idea in my mind but it didn't turn out like it.

Project: Doodle A Day ~In the Woods~

I was watching Mr Men with my niece this morning and they drew some trees similar to this which I really loved the idea of and wanted to recreate, well that was at 7.15am and 12 hours later I sat down to recreate it and couldn't remember exactly what they were like. I did the rough idea of it but choose to use the colours of the seasons of a tree. I absolutely love going to the woods but unfortunately don't go often enough... so it is 'my greatest adventure'. The vine at the top I imagined differently and actually looked better as an outline.

Day 6: Treasure

I hope the idea is easily coming across with this even though my pen control isn't so great. I wish I had drawn my polaroid a little smaller but it will do. I always find the greatest photos are in black and white which is why I wanted to keep this like it. All the places we store those treasured memories!

Project: Doodle A Day ~Favourite Letter~

Day 5: Favourite Letter

My first thought was not a letter of the alphabet but a letter in the post. I absolutely love them and I hope that there will never come a point where I have to stop.

 

I was then thinking of a letter... P came to mind for pen and paper but then I started thinking snail mail, stationery, sweets, sandwiches, stamps..... and my name begins with an S so that kind of outweighted the P... still every stamp needs a price and luckily we work with pennies/pence. I'd love mail 7 days a week but that's only wishful thinking!

Project: Doodle a Day ~Feather~

Day 4: Nature

I absolutely love nature but I find I don't explore and appreciate it enough during all the seasons but hopefully one day I'll pay better attention to it like I did as a child. Speaking of being a child, I always felt so over excited finding a bird feather, I'd carry it all over, appreciate the softness and the colour of it... now you are encouraged to leave them where they are due to illnesses attached to them. How times have changed. One way I do appreciate nature though is through my crafts, I usually work with leaves, flowers and seaside themes so today I decided to go for a bird feather.

Project: Doodle A Day ~Transportation~

Day 3: Transportation

When I originally thought of this theme I wanted to draw a head with a thinking bubble 'Transport yourself to a happier time' but it just didn't sit right in my mind. I started looking at what other people had posted and similar things came up so I decided to do a transport instead. I think its such a shame that these aren't really made anymore as I would have loved to have owned one one day in bright orange or yellow and to drive it around... never mind though... all we can do is 'Remember the good times!'.

 

I was looking at my project idea list at the top and it was so nice to see that I was able to cross off a few things this year. Doodle a day was of course on it.  I should really think of a few more ideas to add to it.

Project: Doodle A Day~Fresh and Light~

I've decided this month to take part in this doodle a day by rhicreations. I've always wanted to do a doodle project and for the first time rhicreations decided to create a challege for all of us to take part in so it was the perfect opportunity. You can still take part and just play catch up as I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

 

I decided to try and create a postcard or decorate an envelope using these themes so that I can then post them off into the big wide world to anyone who is interested in receiving it. So if you see something you like let me know and if its still available I'll send it your way. Anyway let me get started.

 

Day 1: Fresh

This was such hard work to create as I had a few ideas but they just didn't come together. In the end I created this and I really like it. I've posted this to a friend who I'm sure will appreciate it. As you can see you don't need to be brilliant at drawing to take part, a doodle is just that a doodle of randomness.

I created a simple envelope to put the postcard in even though I prefer sending simple postcards like this naked as its nice to have all the postmarks to match. Its not a problem though as I can use my fancy stamps.

 

Day 2: Light

I originally created a sun but then I came across this quote and had to make my sun and heart this way just to be a little bit different. I had so much fun making it and its simple too.

 

I can't wait to take part in all the other themes and I hope that by the end of it, it won't feel like a chore. One nice thing is that when I complete this it will be holiday time again! Yes! I will probably not end up posting daily and I may have times when I need to play catch up but I will complete it.
